Venice Beach RollerSkaters ’79

In 1978 Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley described Venice Beach in California as “the roller skating capital of the world” and looking at these photos taken around that time we guess he was probably right. This set of pictures from the late seventies captures the skating community in action, from a roller skating cowboy on the boardwalk to a wheeled mime artist performing on the streets.
