VSCO Headquarters in Oakland

Long known for the beautifully stark interface of its ubiquitous VSCO Cam app and the evocative filters that it creates for both mobile and professional photography, VSCO similarly does not disappoint with its new headquarters in Oakland, California — a city picked for its “scrappy and hard-working” nature, according to CEO Joel Flory. Built by Flory Construction and situated in one of the only two historic buildings in downtown Oakland, the space was stripped to its concrete bones with minimal embellishment. The result is an airy and light-filled space that keeps partitions to a minimum, instead keeping the focus on its inhabitants. The space is split into two connected workspaces with communal seating and glass conference rooms in the middle. Natural accents of wood, metal and glass make for a sparse, but inviting atmosphere.
